Explains how Auckland got spared by last night’s storm.

In Albany we got really strong winds and some of them are still hitting us now, and it is really cold, and it has poured with rain.

But we have kept our power on. Only lost the Internet overnight. 20km south and it looks like the central city got hardly touched at all.
