Facebook serving me chinese langauge ads

April 2nd, 2010 by Brad Heap

It appears I have so many Chinese friends or something like that on Facebook that I am being served chinese ads.

Can anyone tell me what this says: 這是一款耐玩的戰爭策略遊戲 and 三國,中華民族最輝煌的戰爭時代!百年經典,今日為您呈現!“三國風雲”,Facebook會員點入即玩!

Google Translate gives me This is a war strategy game playable, Three countries, the Chinese nation’s most brilliant era of war! Century classic, today for you show! “Three situation”, Facebook members point into the play!

Surely there should be something more relevant to advertise to me.

Make you own bus banner

December 17th, 2009 by Brad Heap

Over the past week there has been quite a bit of fuss around a group of aethists raising $20k to put some advertising on busses saying “There is probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.”

It didn’t take long for someone to create a image generator to create your own ad, here is my attempt:

TVNZ get creative with advertising

Take a look at the ad for the tv show on the right of the panel. Very creative TVNZ even if it is just a computer generated ad based on word recognition.

On a more serious note there is a very good discussion with Peter Lineham from Massey University regarding the church here: http://tvnz.co.nz/national-news/price-religion-destiny-church-3102501/video

Green Party Billboards

September 6th, 2008 by Brad Heap

Yesterday the Green Party launched its billboards for the upcoming election. I particularly like this one:

The problem however is that New Zealand is not on the centre of the earth. It must be!

So in setting out on resolving this problem I decided to be inclusive of all and therefore put the entire globe, spinning behind it. And viola!

The Original and The Fake

When I first saw the Telecom and featuring Baby Come On by Elemeno P I thought it was pretty cool. However, upon discovering that the company in it was fake it was a bit of a let down. Now I have discovered that the whole video is based off a web based viral video that actually is a real company. Telecom great ad, but it is not cool to rip off other peoples ideas.
